•About BREC &The Owner •
Sadie shut the door to her Chevy Truck after pulling in and parking in the driveway of her Aunt's old Stable. She looked up at the faded sign that marked the entrance. "Black Rose Equine Centre". A name she knew well from her childhood. She glanced at her truck then turned her attention to the two horses standing in the pasture.
"Hey, Fellas." She said sweetly to the two four-legged friends. She walked over to them and stroked their noses gently, "You miss her, too, don't you." She whispered.
It had been a month since her Aunt had passed away and left BREC to Sadie. As a horse-lover, Sadie was more than happy to take over. With the idea of keeping things as they were when she took over. A "well-oiled machine" was what her Aunt had called the Nationally-Known Show Stable; Sadie planned to keep it that way - a well-oiled machine. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone. She dialed the number of Christina at Lawrence Equine Center. She waited as the three idle rings went by and the voicemail came. She punched the "End" button and put away her phone. Christina was busy; of course, that was understandable. With constant Foal Crops and shows, she would have a busy schedule, too. Sadie decided to try calling again later.
Finally, after the moving trucks arrive and after long and tedious hours of unloading furniture, Sadie was ready to pass out on her bed. But, she knew she had to care for the Horses. She walked down the stairs with her sore muscles and out the front door. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail as she rounded the corner. She looked up to see a tall man stroking the nose of one of the Horses she had befriended earlier. She only considered that he was a Stable Hand. She approached the boy and gently tapped his shoulder. He turned around and smiled at the sight of the new owner.
"Hello. You must be Sadie. The niece of Miss Barbwell. I'm sorry for your loss." He said to her, "I'm Billie, by the way." He reached out to her in a warm greeting.
"Lovely to meet you, Billie." She smiled and shook his hand, "I only hope to make this stable prosper like my Aunt."
"I'm sure that you will. " Billie nodded his head and grinned.
